Legal

Terms

Plain terms for a free tool. Read them before you change your system.

What this is

KafkaBoost is a free tool and open source: the code is public on GitHub under the MIT licence (see the LICENSE file). It has no price, plan, account or licence key. The MIT licence covers only this repository's code. ThrottleStop, HWiNFO (proprietary, non-commercial use only) and LibreHardwareMonitor (MPL-2.0) are not part of it; the app downloads them on demand and each keeps its own licence.

Provided as is

It comes with no warranty of any kind. The author is not liable for data loss, instability, hardware damage or any other harm from using it.

Use at your own risk

Changing voltages, power limits, services or registry values can make a PC unstable. The results here were measured on one laptop and do not carry over to another machine.

Risky tweaks lower security

Tweaks in the risky tier, such as turning off real-time antivirus protection or core isolation, reduce your protection. They need two confirmations on purpose. Do not use them unless you understand the effect.

Other software

ThrottleStop, HWiNFO and similar tools belong to their authors and have their own terms. KafkaBoost is not affiliated with them, with Microsoft, Lenovo, Intel or NVIDIA.

Changes to these terms

They can change with the project; the history is in the Git log.
